Product overview

Product Overview

The Gladiator G30 is a high-performance Horizontal Directional Drill engineered for contractors who demand serious power and reliability. Delivering 29,380 FT-LBS of thrust and pullback force at 209 FT/MIN and powered by a 147 HP Cummins engine, the G30 is built to tackle tough ground conditions, high-productivity drilling schedules, and challenging substrates including rocky terrain, clay, and mixed soils.

Weighing 18,740 lbs and measuring 227.55 in L × 84.25 in W × 93.70 in H, the G30 is a full-featured mid-class HDD rig with a rotating cab, dual rack & pinion carriage, and a 65-rod onboard rack — everything a serious drilling crew needs on a demanding jobsite.

Performance Specifications

The G30 delivers 29,380 FT-LBS of thrust and pullback at 209 FT/MIN, with a rotary torque of 4,052 FT-LBS. The fluid system operates at 52 GPM @ 1080 PSI with a rotation speed of 234 RPM. Entry angle is 20 degrees, with a suggested crossing length of up to 656 FT and a suggested reaming diameter of up to 27.56 inches.

Rod System

The G30 features a 65-rod onboard rack using 2.36 × 118.11 inch drill rods — providing substantial rod capacity for medium to long-distance bores in a self-contained package. Rod loader arms are standard, streamlining rod handling and keeping crews working efficiently.

Construction & Carriage System

The G30 is built with a steel hood, rotating cab, and rod loader arms as standard. The dual rack & pinion carriage system provides smooth, precise thrust and pullback control across the full force range — a key feature for bore path accuracy on longer and more complex crossings.

Operator Comfort & Controls

The rotating cab keeps operators comfortable and oriented to the bore regardless of machine position. Wireless remote with hydraulic lockout shut-off provides precise, safe control of all drilling functions. Onboard systems include auto anchor, mud flow adjust, and shut-off valves, while the safety package covers antifreeze tank, strike alert, and seat sensor.

Ideal Applications

The Gladiator G30 is ideal for: underground utility installation (gas, water, electric, telecom), fiber optic and broadband network buildouts, conduit bores under roads, highways, and waterways, and any mid-size HDD job requiring up to 656 FT of crossing length and up to 27.56 inches of reaming diameter.

Machine Dimensions & Weight

Weight: 18,740 lbs. Dimensions: 227.55 in Length × 84.25 in Width × 93.70 in Height.
